A good home office is mostly a matter of removing friction. Buy in this order and stop when the room works.

Raise the screen
The top of the screen should sit at or slightly below eye level. A simple riser fixes posture and gives the keyboard somewhere to go at the end of the day.

Add task light

Soften the screen
A strip of light behind the monitor reduces the contrast between screen and wall, which helps in the evening.

Clear the surface
Store paper and notebooks upright and put everything else on a shelf above the desk. Aim to see mostly desk when you sit down.
